Dear Little Silas,
You are now six months old! What a joy you are to us. You are such a fun and mostly content little guy. You love to giggle when tickled or when listening to silly sounds we make for you. Just after you turned five months, you discovered your feet. You had grabbed at them prior to this, but this marked a new interest. You now love to pull on your feet, rock back and forth while holding your feet, and of course stick your feet in your mouth, all the while making tons of noise.
You began eating solids a little before six months old. Your first meal was bananas and rice cereal. So far, your favorite combos are bananas and pears or chicken-rice soup and yogurt. You sometimes like to blow raspberries while eating, which makes it difficult to get the food in.
You began to army-crawl the last week of October. You haven't really figured out what this new skill can do for you. So far, you've mainly stuck around the living room, going after toys that elude your grasp. It will be fun when you discover that you can crawl down the hall to your sisters' room or come and see me in the kitchen.
Your last appointment with Dr. Jhawar went well. He said your lungs are staying clear, and your weight gain is great. He did have us begin a nebulizer treatment with hypertonic saline, to keep your even healthier. You don't really like the little neb mask on your face, but we just do the best we can to get you to inhale the solution. You really are very tolerant of your breathing treatments, which makes it easier on us, too! We are praying for your lungs to stay healthy during these upcoming winter months.
You got your first big boy haircut just this evening (not just a trim around the hair line like I did in August, but with the clippers). Your hair has grown a ton since you were born; it was time. Daddy used the clippers to give you one inch all over. It's amazing how it makes you look older!

We love you, our sweet Si. We're so glad you're ours.

What a sweet letter Jules. I love that you write to him like that. He will surely enjoy looking back on those some day! I love hearing all the updates and how he's growing up. Love you!
