We had quite a fun week in Copperopolis at the BMW reunion. BMW stand for Berreth-Martin-Wangsgard, for those who are wondering. Funny thing, my parents found an old license plate from when we used to live in Nevada, and part of the old plate letters were "BMW!" Pretty cool, huh?

Activities of our week-long adventure included lots of eating, playing cards, going for walks, 4th celebration, a trip to Big Trees State Park, swimming, kayaking, Biblical discussion on forgiveness, reuniting with Katie Martin after her 10 month stay in the Philippines, and just lots of great fellowship.

For those who like to discover cute little eateries, we found one such place in Arnold. It's called "Bistro 49" and has delicious menu choices (the rumor is everything is made from scratch!). My mom-in-law bought a loaf of bread on our way out, and we savored it made into French toast the next morning!

I learned on this trip that our daughter, Katie, really loves to enjoy her jelly beans one by one. We were eating them in the car (no, wait - in our new van!) on the way down, and she would stop to ask the flavor of each one before popping it into her mouth.

My favorite memory from Big Trees is shown in one of the photos. Katie and Lilly, hand in hand, were strolling down the forest path, singing "Jesus Loves Me" as they went. So precious!

Most importantly, at least for the coffee drinkers in the family, we visited Copperopolis' coffee house called "Snaps." The coffee was excellent, and my brother-in-law, Matt, should known since he used to be a barista (hopefully I spelled that correctly - the spell check didn't recognize it) in Salem, Oregon. We had a great time talking with the owner, who went to coffee school in Portland, and tried hundreds of beans before settling on what he serves at "Snaps." So, if you are traveling east on Highway 4, stop at Coppertown Square and pay Randy a visit. He would appreciate your patronage!
