A couple weeks, Katie was talking about coke and jellybeans. She was very excited about it, the jellybean part understandably so since it’s her favorite “food.” But, we don’t keep soda in the house, so I am not sure where she familiarized herself with Coke. Well, making conversation with her, we told her that someday Jonathan would take her out for coke and jellybeans. Katie caught onto this right away, and said, “Yes, mommy, you can stay here, and just Daddy and I will go.” So, a few Saturdays ago, Jonathan decided to just do it, marking the anniversary of their first official daddy-daughter date. They went up to the little village store, and spent $7.28 on coke and the real Jelly Bellys. Then Jonathan took her to a little group of lakes near our home for a nature walk. They saw some ducks and a blue heron. Katie came home and happily shared the details of her and Jonathan’s adventure. Of course, her favorite part was the jellybeans!

She might have seen a coke bottle or two in the hands of the guy you have working on your new home. He is known to indulge in the soda.
